AirNav Ireland Reports Strong Performance and Sustainable Growth for 2024

28 April 2025

AirNav Ireland has published its 2024 Annual Report and Financial Statements, marking its first full year as an independent entity. The Group has reported a profit after tax of €10.3 million for 2024, on turnover of €196.8 million.  The Company does not receive any funding from the State.

Operationally, AirNav Ireland continued to build on its strong foundations, managing a record 679,000 IFR (instrument flight rules) flights within Irish-controlled airspace, a 2.3% increase over 2023, and providing a voice communications service to more than 537,000 flights in North Atlantic Oceanic airspace, an increase of 3.5% on 2023 levels.

Safety remained central to all AirNav Ireland activities and, in 2024, AirNav Ireland maintained a high level of safety across all of its operations. The Company continued to enhance its Safety Management Systems and, in 2024, achieved a safety maturity score of 90%, placing AirNav Ireland amongst the top performing air navigation service providers.

Environmental performance was another key focus. Ireland’s airspace ranked among the top three performers in Europe for environmental efficiency.  Also in 2024, AirNav Ireland achieved  Level 3 accreditation under the CANSO GreenATM programme, emphasising the efforts made by the Company to deliver sustainable airspace management in Irish skies. In support of its strategic goals, the Board approved the launch of the AirNav Ireland’s Sustainability Management Plan 2024–2029, outlining the Company’s roadmap to net-zero emissions and improved environmental governance.

To meet increased operational demands, the Company engaged in a comprehensive recruitment campaign, focused on strengthening air traffic control, engineering and compliance capabilities.  The Company continued to support diversity and gender representation in the workforce and implemented diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives.

Chairperson of the AirNav Ireland Board, Mr. Bryan Bourke, commented:
“2024 marked a pivotal year for AirNav Ireland.  Once again, the AirNav Ireland team has proven its capacity for innovation, excellence and resilience. We remain focused on delivering high-quality, safe and sustainable air navigation services in Irish controlled airspace.”

Chief Executive Dr. Peter Kearney added:
“This past year is a testament to the skill, passion and adaptability of our people. We are proud of what we’ve achieved and excited about what lies ahead for the organisation. With a clear strategic vision and an unwavering commitment to safety and sustainability, AirNav Ireland, although still a new company is well positioned to meet the challenges and opportunities of the coming years.”
