AirNav Ireland, in collaboration with Platform for Change (DG Move), EUROCONTROL, and EASA, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its workshop on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Toolkit, held on March 6th and 7th 2024, in Dublin. Coinciding with International Women's Day on March 8th, the event provided a timely opportunity to highlight the importance of gender diversity and inclusivity in the aviation industry.
Throughout the two-day workshop, attendees engaged in insightful presentations, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at advancing diversity, equality and inclusion within the aviation sector. Key topics included raising awareness, HR best practices, partnership strategies, metrics measurement, learning programs, and effective communication strategies.
"We are proud to have hosted this impactful workshop, especially on the eve of International Women's Day, as it allowed us to emphasise the importance of gender diversity and inclusion in aviation," said Brendan Mulligan, Deputy CEO and Director HR, AirNav Ireland. "By creating a supportive and inclusive environment, we can attract and retain more women in aviation-related roles, ultimately driving innovation and excellence in our industry."
As part of its ongoing commitment to gender diversity, AirNav Ireland will continue to prioritise initiatives aimed at attracting, retaining, and advancing women in aviation. By fostering an inclusive culture and providing opportunities for professional development, AirNav Ireland aims to create a more diverse and representative workforce that reflects the global community it serves.
AirNav Ireland's commitment to diversity extends beyond the workplace, reaching out to the future generation of aviation professionals. Through their Transition Year Programme and national school visits, they actively encourage and attract female candidates to pursue careers in air traffic control and engineering, traditionally underrepresented fields.
To provide ongoing support and mentorship, AirNav Ireland has established a Women's Network, creating a platform for women to connect, learn and grow together. Additionally, they offer mentorship and sponsorship opportunities to nurture talent and drive advancement.
AirNav Ireland remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the aviation industry, and looks forward to continued collaboration and progress.
