JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose

  • The primary purpose of the Communications Assistant is to provide support to the Communications Manager in raising awareness of the Company Brand and profile to ensure clear communication across all internal and external channels.
  • The role will also provide support to the Corporate Affairs team in support of the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability business strategy.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various departments to collect, generate, and curate content tailored for internal and external communications, fostering seamless internal communication.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and internal communication best practices, integrating innovative concepts to elevate communication effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager to craft original, high-quality content, including videos, for dissemination on both internal and external communications channels.
  • Coordinate with various departments to oversee the implementation and continuous maintenance of the employee app.
  • Engage with internal teams to source fresh content for inclusion in the employee app, ensuring content is presented in an engaging manner.
  • Assist in the management of events and conferences, both internally and externally.
  • Internal and external Corporate Identity – assist with corporate identity checks, proof reading, branded company artifacts etc.
  • Monitoring and assisting in research of peer ANSP activities to provide valuable intel for AirNav Ireland’s internal activities, external communications, and commercial strategy.
  • Fulfil other assigned duties as appropriate, contributing to the enhancement of internal and external communications.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager as needed
  • Any other duties appropriate to the position that may be assigned from time to time.

Internal: 

In addition to direct reporting relationships at 3.3 above the post holder is required to liaise with all personnel and Directorates in the Company

External: 

The postholder is required to liaise with all appropriate external bodies, providers, suppliers, and companies.                            

PERSON SPECIFICATON

Education, Knowledge, Experience & Skills

Essential:   

  • A relevant third level qualification or equivalent
  • Understanding of social media platforms and best practices from a brand perspective (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
  • Excellent digital skills across various platforms - content creation, management, digital analytics, insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent copy writing skills.
  • Excellent written abilities with strong attention to detail, editing and proof-reading skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including multi-tasking, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent project management skills, multitasking ability, attention to detail and results-orientation.
  • Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable 

  • Flexibility for domestic or international travel, as required.
  • Experience of event management.
  • Experience with video and photo editing software (Adobe Design Suite and Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Experience in building and maintaining positive business relationships.

REVIEW

The Job & Person specification for the role will be reviewed every 2 years or whenever the postholder vacates the position. The key competencies for the role are identified during the recruitment process and regularly reviewed under the annual Management Performance and Development (MPD) process.
