JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose

The role of the Data Assistant Operational is to support Air Traffic Controller Officers in the provision of a safe and efficient Air Traffic Service in Dublin operations. This role works closely with Air traffic controllers in both the Dublin tower and the Dublin radar centre.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate flight data position to include
    • Exchange of flight data with neighbouring ATS units
    • Monitor operating systems for Flight Plan errors
    • Monitor the main switchboard for the ATC
    • Coordinate with the airport authority as appropriate
    • Comply with relevant ATS procedures and Letters of agreement
    • Deal with AFTN messages
    • Promulgate relevant information for the provision of service 
    • Create flight plans as required
  • Assist Air Traffic Control Staff as required
  • Perform data assistant training duties as required
  • Process flight plans and associated flight safety messages
  • Process routine requests from other services/agencies
  • Amend and maintain ANS documentation
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant technology and regulations
  • Carry out administrative duties as required
  • Perform any other related duties as appropriate to the role of a Data Assistant as assigned.

PERSON SPECIFICATON

Education, Knowledge, Experience & Skills        

Essential:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised with the ability to multi-task and coordinate a range of activities.
  • Proficient IT skills, including the full range of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to plan, organise and prioritise workload.

Desirable:

  • Experience in working in a shift environment.
  • Data Entry experience.
  • An interest in aviation and some knowledge of the subject.
