Only experienced licensed pilots with recent short field techniques will be granted permission to use the airfield.
Prior to use pilots intending to use Coonagh aerodrome should seek a local briefing from a flying club instructor throughURL: http://www.limerickflyingclub.com
Aircraft must enter and vacate the runway via a paved taxiway.
Caution: Narrow runway width may give the illusion of longer runway length and the runway may appear further away than it really is. Due to narrow runway, pilots should exercise caution in actual or forecast crosswind conditions.
Obstacles penetrating the 09/27 approaches and the transitional surface for RWY 09/27 including a mobile object on the public road.
All circuits should be flown to the south of the Shannon River at 800Ft avoiding built up areas. Pilots are reminded of the proximity of the P9 and the Shannon Control Zone.
Local quarry blasting activity takes place every Thursday at 1500 Local time in the vicinity of Coonagh Airfield by Irish Cement.Irish Cement request that pilots do not overfly the quarry/cement factory from 1350 to 1410 (summertime) and 1450 to 1510 (Wintertime)
