This AIC replaces AIC Nr 003/2026

Due to the gradual shift in earth's magnetic field, the magnetic variation at Shannon Airport (EINN) has changed sufficiently to require a runway re-designation. This change ensures continued alignment between runway magnetic headings and their numerical identifiers.

Details of Change:

Effective 11th June 2026:

EINN runway designation will change to RWY 05/23:

All associated aerodrome signage and markings will be updated accordingly. The change will be reflected in the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) Ireland, EINN AD 2 Section.

The following publications and systems will be updated:

• AIP Ireland (EINN AD 2 Section)
• Instrument Approach Charts and Procedures
• ATS and MET Broadcasts
• Flight Planning and Navigation Databases
• NOTAM
• Aerodrome Charts

Aircraft operators, flight crews and aeronautical data users are advised to:

• Update navigation databases and flight planning systems
• Brief crews on the new runway designation
