Waterford Airport plan to undertake upgrading works to its airside infrastructure in 2026. Further and more detailed information will be promulgated via AIP Supplement in due course.

The main elements of the works which include changes to visual aids (markings, lighting and signs) will comprise the following:

1. extending, widening and strengthening of the runway pavement.
2. widening, strengthening of the taxiway pavement.
3. strengthening of areas of apron pavement.

The airport will be closed to commercial and general aviation flight operations for the duration of works except for helicopter operations conducted by Irish Coastguard, SAR, HEMS and State operators which will use a temporary FATO/TLOF facility.

It is anticipated that construction works will commence in March 2026 and are scheduled to take approximately 40 weeks to complete. The exact start date and hours of work will be promulgated by follow up NOTAM with reference to the associated AIP Supplement.
