Cork Airport (EICK) Upgrade to Instrument Landing System on Runway 34 at Cork Airport

For a period of 6 weeks commencing in September 2026, it is proposed to upgrade the instrument landing system (ILS) to Runway 34 at Cork Airport. The ILS to Runway 34 will be out of service for an approximate 6-week period while the new ILS system is being installed.

The works include removal of the existing 34 localiser, 34 glide path and 34 LDME equipment and antennas and the installation of the new 34 localiser, 34 glide path and 34 LDME antennas and equipment. The existing glide path 34 mast will be reused.

The proposed works will take place during daylight hours. Runway 16-34 will be available for use throughout the installation.

The following operational restrictions apply

ILS 34 will be out of service for the duration of the proposed upgrade works to the localiser 34, LDME34 and Glide Path 34 systems (NOTAM Promulgated).
The ILS system will be flight checked and approved for use prior to being brought into operation.
VOR/DME and RNAV (GNSS) approach procedures to Runway 34 remain available for use during the upgrade works.
Installation works are not permitted in LVPs.
