  Aeronautical Chart for Civil Aviation

1. Aeronautical Charts, with the exception of the Ireland ICAO 1:500,000 chart are published integrally within the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package.
2. VFR Chart Scale 1:500,000 Edition 13 The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) has produced a visual flight rules (VFR) aeronautical encapsulated accordion folded Scale 1:500,000. This chart is for VFR navigation within the boundaries of the Shannon FIR. In addition to aeronautical Information, the charts provide terrain contours, hydrographic, topographic, cultural and other visual features compatible with legibility at the scale of the chart - this information is supplied by Tailte Eireann and/or Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland. It is available to order by contacting [email protected]
3. VFR Airspace Chart Scale 1:500,000 Edition 3 The IAA has produced a visual flight rules (VFR) aeronautical airspace chart Scale 1:500,000. This chart is for VFR navigation within the boundaries of the Shannon FIR. It is available free to download from the IAA Website www.iaa.ie
4. Changes This edition of the chart includes the following changes/updates as a result of a series of consultation charting workshops:

    • EIR16 sector 2500ft to FL240 text moved to the side.
    • EIR16 line thickness has been reduced from 3.0 to 2.0
  6. Dublin CTA airspace outline reduced from 2.25 to 1.5
  7. Legend text updated to read “Elevation in feet above Mean Sea Level of the highest known feature, including terrain and obstacles, in each quadrangle” and show spot height plus obstacle height and elevation symbology within the same box.
  8. Danger Area line thickness has been reduced from to 8.0 to 4.0.
  9. EID6 text moved to the side.
  10. EIP8 text moved to the side.
  11. EIP9 text moved to the side.
  12. EIR16 sector 2500ft to FL240 text moved to the side.
  13. EIR16 line thickness has been reduced from 3.0 to 2.0.
  14. Kilcock area (Tollbooth) airspace correctly shows on the northern Dublin CTA 2500ft/FL245.
  15. Villages red dots changed to citron yellow dots on chart and in legend.
  16. Balloon areas symbols reduced from 26 to 20.
  17. Shannon Significant points are shown and named on the eastern, northern and southern sides of the chart.
  18. Thickness of EIME aerodrome symbol lines size/radius was decreased by 4 with the Unicode also changed from 43 to 44.
  19. White Box added to the UK aerodrome traffic zones warning note to provide more clarity.
  20. The following note has been added on the northern airspace regarding the UK AIP. “USERS ARE REMINDED THAT AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION OUTSIDE THE SHANNON FIR IS NOT PART OF THE IRISH INTEGRATED AERONAUTICAL PACKAGE. CHECK UK AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION PUBLICATONS FOR THE APPROARIATE AREA.”
